This new report examines how foreign and domestic actors sought to influence the 2025 Moldovan parliamentary elections. Drawing on research conducted under the FIMI Defenders for Election Integrity (FDEI) Project, coordinated by FIMI-ISAC, the study provides a detailed look at the complex information environment surrounding the elections.
The report builds on the collective monitoring and rapid response efforts of more than thirty organizations. Key data points, including twenty-two incident alerts, reveal the persistent and multifaceted threats posed by disinformation, coordinated inauthentic behavior, and other forms of interference. The findings offer valuable insights for policymakers, election observers, and civil society organizations working to protect democratic processes and strengthen public trust in electoral systems.
