Microsoft’s Brad Smith on digital resilience during geopolitical volatility

On Wednesday, April 30 at 10:00 a.m. CET/4:00 a.m. ET, the Atlantic Council will host a virtual #ACFrontPage conversation from Brussels with Microsoft Vice Chair and President Brad Smith on maintaining trust and promoting competitiveness in a time of trade and geopolitical volatility.

The world of technology is rapidly changing, with industry now central to how countries are developing their economic policies in an increasingly digital world. Governments are taking more intense interest in sectors such as artificial intelligence, tech-enabled competitiveness, and semiconductors.

Within that context, the European Union is forging ahead with a dual mandate to jumpstart the bloc’s economy and maintain its global leadership position on digital regulation. The bloc is also facing headwinds with the United States, its closest ally. Europe must sustain its digital resilience and sovereignty as Brussels, European capitals, and Washington address growing tensions that impact the future of transatlantic security and the Western alliance.

This edition of #ACFrontPage, made possible with support from Microsoft, will be livestreamed on Atlantic Council TV, YouTube, Facebook, and X. To join us virtually, please complete the registration form.

If you can’t join us live, we’ll be playing back the full conversation on all of our platforms at 4:00 p.m. CET/10:00 a.m. ET.
