Kateryna Halstead

Kateryna Halstead was a research assistant for Ukraine and Russia the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab based in Washington, DC.

Previously, Halstead worked as a researcher with the Center for Strategic and International Studies and was involved in projects tracking the military developments of the Russian war in Ukraine and helped to draft the Transnational Threat Project’s annual extremism report. She has specialized in open-source intelligence research, particularly in the Russian and Ukrainian information spaces, and tracked Russian irregular warfare methods via cyber and disinformation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations with a minor in Spanish language studies from Trinity Washington and is currently pursuing an master’s degree in international relations with a focus on security studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
